Our product range showcases the raw, natural beauty of the leather itself, crafted into premium quality and uniquely styled pieces. These hand-crafted products carry the essence of what we at Stitch & Chisel stand for in creating distinctive and beautiful pieces for any occasion.
When Stitch & Chisel first started, we didn’t have any of the machines we have now, so everything was stitched by hand. This traditional saddle-stitch technique involves punching stitch holes with a mallet and chisel and then stitching the leather together by hand with wax thread. This leatherwork technique is how we derived our namesake.
Please note that because leather is a natural product, irregularities such as minor marks, scratches and slight colour discrepancies are normal. Only man-made materials appear “perfect” to the eye. And much like the bearer, we believe that these “imperfections” add to the beauty of the leather.
How it all began
Meet the creator...
The dream found its origin with a handful of leather off-cuts and the desire to create something special and personal for my husband’s birthday. With care and love, I created a bespoke leather keyring with a photo of us inside- and the joy it evoked from him certainly made the effort worth it!
I realised then that a gift crafted with a personal touch has the power to transcend the simple exchange of an object- it has the ability to make that special someone feel loved and noticed.
My thoughts began to spin in a whirlwind of possibility and creativity… What else could I create with leather?
And so, Stitch & Chisel was born! Our brand is about more than just creating quality, artisanal leather products- at the heart of it is the desire to inspire joy and connect people to their loved ones in a personal and thoughtful way.
